Monday 21st May
The group have arrived safely at Heatree. The weather was warm and sunny. After having lunch we began a series of team building tasks, in the groups we will work alongside for the rest of the week. There were a range of challenges to overcome as well as launching rockets and saving kittens which looked remarkably like water filled balloons! All the children had a great time. The children then had time to settle into their rooms before tea, which was followed by a range of activities in the evening sun. After supper all seemed to be quite tired and settled down for a well earned rest.
Tuesday 22nd May
It was a hazy start to the day on the moor. As the sun rose the first rustling of children could be heard. All having rested, they woke ready for the day. After assembly and breakfast they enjoyed a range of group activities – today the rotation included kayaking, bush craft, archery, challenges being faced on the low adventure course or taking part in the wilderness venture. Everyone had a great time and during the morning the sun broke through the cloud and all enjoyed the warm summer weather.
