Welcome to St. Anne’s School Council.
This year Children from Year 5 and 6 are invited to apply to be part of the School Council. Children can apply for the various roles that are needed to run our council for this academic year.
Interested children will be invited to attend a meeting to find out more about applying to be a member of the school council. It usually involves a campaign to persuade other pupils to vote for them.
In previous years, children have created posters and thought about how they were going to get people to vote for them. KS2 children are then invited to an assembly to listen to all the candidates present themselves before a final vote is made.
The role of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are decided in a ballot. A special assembly is then held where the Chair of Governors is invited to award positions to the elected candidates.
What has the School Council been doing?
So far, as a School Council together with the Early Years Foundation Stage classes, we have held cake sales and competitions that raised £750 for the new outdoor area of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
